Free text. Those who want to promote a website best start with http:// since this creates a clickable link in the browsers.
Send best DX changes the status text from the free choice to the output of the station with the farest direct distance. To get metric meassurements change under ⇒ Stations ⇒ Station List ⇒ Km/Miles .

If you like to operate as a digipeater take the settings as demonstrated above. You should also choose a callsign plus SSID i.e. -2 and a corresponding symbol to let everyone know what to expect from your station.

To get the latest server nodes to connect to the APRS-IS change the internet address to the given one and start the download. Next is the selection under APRS Server Setup.

4 to 6 servers should be chosen and with Enable auto reconnect X you make sure the system stays connected to the APRS-IS.
Under Extra log-on extra it is possible to set filters i.e. m/150 as maximum range for reception via internet.
The right column holds selections for the operation as igate (see next example).

Here as well you should indicate your activity as igate by choosing the appropriate symbol and SSID i.e. -10 .
In the right column you make sure that messaging is bidirectional. Answers to messages received by a RX only Igate will perish to the unability to transmit.
So the community highly appreciates bidirectional igates !

Connect to internet server
of APRS (APRS-IS). Either manually via:

Via item New the Command dropdown menu becomes available. Select APRSERVE_CONNECT and set Time window to +1.
This effects the program to automatically connect to APRS-IS one minute after start.

You may find more pages explaining how to setup UI-View. Anyhow care should be taken that these pages do not date from times before the introduction of New Paradigm in the year 2008 . Since that has changed path settings (unproto address) fundamentally !
